2018 is a special year that marks the 40th Anniversary of the federal legislation that authorized the annual celebration of Asian Pacific American (APA) Heritage Month in the country.
The APA Heritage Celebration Committee cordially invites you to the official City and County of San Francisco celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
Wednesday, May 2, 2017 5:30pm Herbst Theatre, 401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco Reception at City Hall Immediately following ceremony
Program highlights include - Presentation of first annual Edwin M. Lee Public Service Award
- Special recognitions to organizations for having achieved significant community impact -- Chinese Historical Society of America (55 years) -- Nihonmachi Street Fair (45 years) -- Pistahan Parade & Festival (25 years) -- San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra (35 years)
- Unique cultural performances
Events are free to the public. Seating at the Herbst Theater is limited and registration is required at www.apasf.org. After the awards ceremony, you are invited to a post event reception at City Hall for a taste of Asia, community exhibits and raffles drawing. Tickets to the reception will be distributed at the end of the Awards event. Attire is ethnic festive.
