In partnership with DIMENSIONS DANCE THEATER, INC., AfroRooted returns for their second edition dance battle right in downtown Oakland!
Both Karlita (based in Oakland) and Lilian (based in Uganda) came together in 2015 through exchanging different street styles and traditional dance forms. Based on these exchanges, AfroRooted officially launched last year as an introduction in tracing street dances to their African roots in a battle format from music of the African diaspora. This year, the other half of AfroRooted will be joining us for this 2nd edition coming all the way from Uganda!
DETAILS: This is a 2 vs 2 open styles battle format to Afrobeats, Afrohouse, and other genres from different parts of Africa.
